CYCALL runs an inclusive cycling project at Brooklands Park, Worthing. We have a fleet of 20 adapted trikes including a hand propelled trike, a wheelchair transporter trike and a 4 seater trike. Our sessions are about much more than just pedalling. The sessions are a valuable opportunity for social interaction. People living with a disability often experience loneliness or feel isolated from their local community. We also play outdoor games such as Jenga, Connect 4 and Table Tennis. CYCALL is a voluntary led project and every penny raised goes towards buying new cycling equipment and improving our sessions.
CYCALL Community Garden The creation of a community garden will improve the environment for our members and for all park users. The project will connect with the existing 'Bees & Sea's' project at Brooklands Park and include sensory experiences, pollinater plants, quiet areas, raised planters and wildlife habitats. The raised planters will allow our participants who have limited mobility access the garden and become involved with the maintenance. We will also be adding blackboards to the side of our containers which will add a creative element to our sessions and encourage our participants to express themselves through artwork. The most important part of our garden will be the creation of 'quiet, safe spaces' . Many of our participants suffer from anxiety and can become overwhelmed. These spaces will be perfect to sit in the garden in a calm, sensory oasis.
