Develop a Members Area as a source of sustainable income for Autism Wellbeing so we can continue providing free services to autistic people.

by Autism Wellbeing CIC in Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, United Kingdom

Autism Wellbeing has weathered the pandemic by changing what we do from delivering face-to-face training and consultancy to providing phone-based support, online peer-to-peer support groups and downloadable resources. These services are provided free to Autistic people, their families and the professionals who work with them. We support people not just in Wales but from all over the world!

We are a small, close-knit team of professionals with lived experience of autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia and sensory impairment. Our way of working is distinctive because we meet people where they are, validate their experience and offer a range of strategies and resources designed to reduce distress and increase wellbeing. We know from testimonials and feedback forms that our way of working is highly effective and much valued by those we support.

Please help us on the next stage of our journey as we develop and launch our Members' Area. We have started to develop some amazing online resources including a searchable database where members can find information, explanations and suggestions for managing all sorts of sensory experiences - from hair-brushing to head-banging, menstruation to motion sickness. Members have access to a bespoke Autism and Sensory Processing app, online training courses, a Members' Forum and more.

Your donation will also allow us to continue providing free support via telephone and online to members and non-members alike. Recent feedback forms on these services have stated "I felt heard and, more importantly, encouraged by the conversation on the phone", "As an autistic parent to an autistic child, I felt trusted and listened to" and "My phone conversation with Autism Wellbeing was a turning point in the way I understand my partner's needs... It's a mixture of how they take a non-pathologising approach, how they use a sensory lens to view people's experience and how they can adapt well to the person's needs that make Autism Wellbeing a unique and immensely helpful service".

Your donation will help us to keep providing this kind of support to autistic people and those who care for them.
