Cremco Community Leisure is a not for profit subsidiary of Cremco Leisure. Our aim is to provide local communities across the United Kingdom with access to sports and leisure activities. For people that would not normally be able to or who would otherwise find it difficult to gain this access.
The project is to provide people of all ages and abilities accross the UK with direct access to sports and leisure activities. It will mainly focus at a local level targeting deprived communities accross the country that have limited or no access to sports facilities. We will identify any available space within the community, with a focus on under developed space/areas. Funding will be used to develop facilities within these areas.
Issues surrounding local communities include, Crime, Anti-Social behavior, obesity, inactivity and segregation. A common phrase from young people today is " We have nothing to do ". By providing communities with direct access to these facilities, should help to reduce crime, give young people something to do along with keeping elderly residents active.
People of all ages and ability will be able to benefit from taking part. Where possible sports teams will be formed in order to engage in competition with other teams.
Community leisure panels will be formed in each area where the project is to take place, mainly consisting of local residents. We will work with already existing groups in these areas in order to enhance both our project and theirs.
