My colleague and I have recently set up a new community interest company called Creative Therapy Concepts. The main services we will be providing are creative diversional therapy workshops for vulnerable adults and children, who suffer from a variety of mental health and long-term illnesses. The ultimate goal of our organisation is to raise funds to create a unique creative and holistic therapy centre where we can offer our rooms to other like-minded organisations and also deliver our workshops. The therapy rooms would be beneficial to all social groups, promoting self-esteem, confidence, emotional wellbeing and social involvement. At our main location, we intend on having an area where we can offer refreshments and run a volunteer program, for people to participate in whilst gaining work experience and building their confidence skills. We intend on organising regular fund-raising events to raise funds and to also create a health and well-being booklet for people to access both online and in hard copy every quarter. On social media platforms, we intend on writing regular awareness articles on the variety of conditions people may suffer from and what holistic therapies may be available that can help with coping. Hazel and I have both lived with and still manage long term chronic conditions, however, we have had tremendous support from our families. Over the years we have researched and tried out creative methods to help ourselves and others and now want to make our dream a reality by helping others that may not have the support network that we had.
