As an individual, I believe that radio is a brilliant teaching tool, it will enhance pretty much any topic, making assignments/projects engaging and fun. It also works very well with Learners who have additional needs. I have also travelled abroad to deliver week long radio projects with German school children.
Chelmsford Community Radio is a fantastic resource to help bring local people together. We have lots and lots of guests and community engagement - we give access to all sorts of groups and individuals to come on air and talk about a good cause, a gig, a show, hobbies and interests.
We have a diverse range of shows - like a chocolate box really. Something for everyone.
Chelmsford is affectionately known as the birthplace of radio and 2020 sees the 100th anniversary of the first radio entertainment broadcast - an event that lead to the formation of the BBC and the explosion of creativity in this medium.
My vision is that with the help of funding we can cover the costs of hiring workspace, equipment and staff to offer a series of monthly workshops for children and their parents to become more engaged with what we do as a station but also help to develop a passion for creativity in digital arts. Creating exciting content that can be shared with the listeners of Chelmsford and beyond.
