I came to Europe in 2000 as a refugee (with my family) , it was very hard to get used to the new country, the culture, the language etc especially because I was already eight and was used to how things were in Kurdistan.
While walking through the streets of Berlin I always stopped at little cafes to look through the window and see what the decor is like, how they make the coffee and how they interact with customers
At the age of 10 my dream was set. I wanted to run my own cafe one day! But due to the appreciation of free education in Europe I graduated at university. From 2014 to 2016 I set off to a world trip all by myself to see where coffee and tea is coming from.
From the tea fields from Sri Lanka to the coffee plantations in Columbia , I travelled around the world and got to know the source and meaning of coffee worldwide.
In 2017 I moved to Scotland with the dream to start my own business. I was on a property hunt since. Last month a shop closed down around the corner and the owner decided to go for me as his tenant.
So right now the property is getting renovated (which is urgently needed) and that’s also where all my savings went.
Now three weeks before planned opening I’m in need of funds for stock and furniture.
I only want to work with local distributors to save emissions and also to support locals.
I want to create a place where everyone feels safe and welcomed despite their age, gender and roots.
All the donations above 10000£ will go directly to refugee charities.
I know what it feels like to come to a country where everything is different and also a bit scary.
One day I want to support refugee kids who arrived in Europe without their families with the income of my cafe.
The products at Love, Peace and Coffee will be sustainable and cruelty free to fight plastic waste , child labour and factory farming.
Thanks a lot for your support!
