Each year, Cranleigh Chamber of Commerce celebrates Christmas by installing illuminated decorations on lamp posts and trees along the High Street.
The Chamber also arranges a family Christmas Lights switch-on event, taking place this year on Saturday 18th November 2017.
In a typical year, installing the Christmas Lights and hosting a programme of entertainment costs around £12,000. This money is all raised from our membership and through sponsorship from local businesses and generous donors.
This year, we face a much larger funding challenge. We need to replace the Christmas Lights in the Maple Trees alongside the Common, which have suffered a few years of storm damage. It means our total costs in 2017 are close to £25,000!
Our volunteers are already hard at work exploring every possible avenue to raise this money and light up Cranleigh at Christmas. But we need your help too.
Please consider supporting the Cranleigh Christmas Lights through this public crowdfunding campaign. Even a £1 donation will help.
With your support, and the continued generosity of local businesses, we can celebrate Christmas in Cranleigh this year and make sure the village is looking fantastic as always.
