As a mental health charity of over 30 years, we have witnessed an ever growing demand for services over recent years.
Our service enables people to get the support of an advocate when they need it most. Advocacy is taking action to support people to say what they want, secure their rights, pursue their interests and obtain services they need. Advocates work in partnership with the people they support and take their side, promoting social inclusion, equality and social justice.
We offer 1 to 1 help to the most vulnerable in society. For years, we also ran a befriending service, helping individuals who had become socially isolated due to their mental ill health until funding cuts in 2018.
Now more than ever we need to be able to reach out to those who feel alone and isolated. To open up a channel of communication with a person they can trust, who can offer reassurance and hope at a time that is so difficult.
Our vision is to provide telephone support for individuals experiencing anxiety and depression to varying degrees in the current climate. Whilst offering a support service for those currently finding it difficult to access mental health services.
