COVID-19 support for the most vulnerable

Hello, 

This is a long article: The long and short is, we are raising money for car insurance to help me support the most vulnerable in the community by being able to continue to help people with their shopping and medications. Please do read the story in full though. 

I hope you are safe and well. I know that the Coronavirus crisis is taking its toll on all of us, especially those of us in countries that have been locked down. The death toll continues to rise around the world but so do the number of people who have recovered. 

There is one thing that is still free to move across the world and its borders without restrictions and that is money. Yes, I am asking you to donate money although you don't know me, however during this crisis, philanthropy has never been more important.  

My mother in law is disabled and suffers with a number of health conditions and has been told that she must not leave the house except for essential trips only, i.e medical appointments. She is suffering at home and we have been devested that we cannot see her properly. We need to be able to get her shopping for her and transport her securely to her appointments, to do this we bought her a car for which I am her named driver but we cannot afford the payment for the car insurance. 

I cannot help with this as I was recently made jobless due to the COVID-19 and I am claiming Universal Credit, barely enough to pay the bills. I am a volunteer for Goodsam, the NHS and Get Licensed all of whom are supporting people to find volunteers to help them with shopping and other essentials. I cannot do this without car insurance. 

Can you help me to raise the funds I need? I will never forget the people who help us now in our time of need. An insurance certificate will be uploaded as proof of our purchase. 

These are unprecedented times but together, we are stronger, and the response is coming from communities across the country and indeed, across the world.
