I am 43 and a recovering alcoholic and have experienced homelessness following my divorce. I almost lost my life to alcohol and depression. Following my hospital and detox treatment, I decided to focus on my well being, and I'm pleased to say that I no longer drink alcohol and am in a much healthier mental state.
I decided to to set up 'London Homeless Welfare team' and have never looked back. LHWT outreach work has been warmly welcomed by so many and we have had good media coverage too (please google my full name to see articled the many articles - Jorawar Singh Rathour)
We were the first to put together and distribute our Covid-19 hand wash packs, beginning of March 2020.
The five volunteers and myself has helped over 300 people from when I started our charitable organisation on 01/01/20. I am undertaking Substance Drug and Alcohol Counselling Level 4 so I can become an accredited member of ACCPH. The six of us also donate funds to our cause of £10 pm. We have also funded our new website which will go live within the next few days, do check it out! We are helped by M&S and Lidl with surplus food donations we give out weekly along with toiletries and our hand wash packs.
Your donations will allow us to expand our outreach projects and help with financing our charity mini bus that we now desperately need.
We are in the process of registering as a charity.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
