Food for thought: We want to reduce the loneliness of the most isolated people in our community who suffer from mental ill health.

by Andrew Collis in Coventry, England, United Kingdom

We want to raise funding to support our food for thought project,  the project idea is simple - to reduce the loneliness and isolation of people who are suffering from mental ill health in our community.  COVID-19 and social distancing has left many people feeling desperately lonely,  this makes mild to moderate mental health needs like anxiety and depression seem like huge problems.

Our project will focus on  facilitating a series of planned social events where people can get out of the house,  feel safe and supported to have conversations,  gain personal support,  share experiences...  have the opportunity to have a normal conversation and make friends.

We facilitate similar projects from time to time, they are usually very successful and usually over subscribed.   From direct feedback from the people that we meet every day there is a real need to do this right now,  every bit of funding raised directly supports the work we do.

All money raised benefits the people we support.   its that straightforward.  Please help us to make a difference.

What will your money go towards:   room hire costs,  a contribution towards the cost of beverages and food.    costs relating to social events.    Our charity provides benefit in kind which includes:  staffing, volunteers, administration, publicity and public liability insurance.

Let's make 'Food for thought - Coventry Mental Health Project' happen
