Community Kitchen - new classes, SepTenner, rewards update

We haven't sent an update in a while, but things have definitely been busy in the Kitchen! We've already cooked with over 250 people at 30+ events, classes and community courses. To get a flavour of what it's like check out this lovely video of our Healthy Hearts group for adults with learning disabilities.

We've also been busy developing a new programme of commercial classes with local chefs and food experts, which launched earlier this month - upcoming highlights include West African Feasts, Fermented Foods,  Make your own charcuterie, Food Photography,  and visits from Masterchef winner Peter Bayless, the Coal Shed and a Bake Off finalist. See the full list on our website - all bookings support our community cookery courses.

We've also learned lots about how to make the most of our new space and ensure classes run as smoothly as possible - including realising just how much washing up 12 people can make... Which is why we've been running a #SepTenner campaign to fundraise for a commercial dishwasher which can complete a cycle in just 5 minutes and help our volunteers get home before midnight after evening classes. If you can donate just £10 (or more) - and then share widely we might just reach our target. Only 4 days to go...

None of this would be possible if we hadn't had your support during our initial crowdfunder. You should have received information about any crowdfund rewards but if for any reason this hasn't reached you, please just get in touch. If you need to collect an apron/ mug/ bag just pop in during office hours. Many of you have come along to a class, and even more will be in over the coming weeks as we run many of our crowdfund masterclasses - Sugardough Bakery tonight, Michael Bremner in two weeks and Silo due in a few months (date to be released shortly once they finalise plans for their pop-up in New York!). Two spaces have become available for the Surplus Set Meal at the Set on 6th October - if you are interested to take these up please email us on info@bhfood.org.uk.

Follow our new social media @btnkitchen  for all the latest photos and updates (Instagram, Facebook & Twitter).

Hope to see you all soon. And of course THANK YOU for making all this possible.

Best wishes

The Food Partnership team
