I am looking to realise my dream of owning my own coffee shop, with a village feel and friendly personable service.

I have been working full time since my children were small in low paid menial jobs in order to simply survive and pay bills, and keep a roof over our heads.

I have wanted to own and run my own cafe for four years, but I have felt that I didn't "have the time", or the energy, and I didn't truly believe in myself.

My children are now growing up and becoming slightly more independent. On reflection I have discovered that I am in fact very determined and hard working, and there is nothing that can stop me from achieving my aim in life. The time for me to start building my business should be now.

I am looking to raise money in order to secure a premises and refurbish it to a high standard. The vision that I have of my cafe is much different to that of your large chain style  branches. I want my cafe to have a "home away from home" feel, with sofas, soft furnishings and pastel colours. It will be light and airy and the service will match.

I am skilled in barista style coffee, however, I wish to also use some of the funds raised to undertake a course on latte art, so that each latte served can have some individual artwork, again, for that more personal service.

I understand that the initial set up and cost towards equipment will be high, for example a espresso machine, fridges, freezer, smoothie maker and oven. It would be fantastic to find a premises already functioning as a cafe, however, in Spencer's Wood and surrounding villages there are no similar businesses.

I am aware that there is also demand for vegan, gluten free and foods tailored towards those with dietary intolerances. I have had numerous messages from such people who have offered their advice as to what would be good items to supply on the menu. I also have a cake baker interested in working together who has passed hygiene inspections and has good reviews.

With the rapid expansion of our village due to many new build developments having been built recently, I feel that this is a prime location to start a business as there is a demand from home workers, parents and couples alike.

In summary, I want to create a relaxed, friendly environment with an emphasis on fresh, home cooked food to order, with great service and repeat business.
