 New stretch target

For any amount over and above our target, EVERY penny will go directly to Marie Curie

Local Oakford artist, Rachel Crews, has been working tirelessly on a one-of-a-kind portrait of national hero Colonel Tom, who has now raised well over £30 million to support our beloved NHS.

In these unprecedented times, together we are stronger, and HOW we respond to this national emergency will be our legacy.

So, we, Oakford Village, would like to buy the Colonel Tom portrait from Rachel to hang in pride-of-place in our village hall. Rachel has kindly pledged that 100% of the profits made will go to Marie Curie to aid them in the support of our NHS.

As we're sure you are aware, every day and night, Marie Curie Nurses and frontline staff give vital support to dying people and their families, in their homes and at their hospices across the UK.

The impact of the coronavirus will be felt, globally, for years to come but for those families grieving the loss of a loved one, it will be unforgettable.  As the UK’s leading charity helping people affected by death, dying and bereavement, Marie Curie plays the role of 'light in the darkness', by supporting the nation through this crisis and beyond. Dying people and their families need our help right now.

Oakford Village would like to ask you to contribute whatever you can to help support these incredible men and women, who put their own health on-the-line every day to help others.

Your support would help Marie Curie Nurses and hospices continue to provide frontline care at this unprecedented time of need. They have always committed to their NHS partners that they will be there to deliver care when needed, and they will continue to do so with full force during the Covid19 emergency and after.

PLEASE NOTE: The original Colonel Tom portrait will hang proudly in the village hall here in Oakford. However, for those of you that are not frequent visitors to our village, Rachel has given permission for us to make prints available via download. These will be of the highest quality, for use wherever you might like.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE: The unveiling of Colonel Tom will take place once the government has lifted the lockdown, and everyone is invited. This will also be when the link is released for your personal download.

WE WISH YOU ALL SAFETY AND STRENGTH DURING THIS TIME.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION!!
