Wardle FC was established in 1914. In 2013 Wardle Junior's FC was formed to promote football in the community from an early age. The club has 278 members made up of 8 junior teams from U7s to U16s, and 3 adult teams. As well as these teams the club runs the aKIDemy, which currently has 20 children, offering sessions to children aged 4-6.
We are an all inclusive and community based grassroots club promoting fair play and team spirit. The thing that makes the club most proud is seeing the children come together each week to play Football, being made welcome and supporting each other.
Our club motto is "One Club, One Vision, One Dream"
The club is run by dedicated volunteers from the committee members to managers and coaches, who give many hours of their free time each week keeping the club running. Many of the volunteers either play with the adult teams or have children in the junior teams. This is what makes the club have a real family focus. The aim of the club is to give the children the opportunity to not only develop football skills, but also to make a positive impact on their lives by making new friendships, promoting health and well-being through increased physical activity, reducing anti-social behaviour and experiencing the feeling of being part of a team and their community.
The club has a prefabricated built clubhouse which has a number of rooms including a small kitchen / cafe area. Unfortunately the building is no longer fit for purpose in its dilapidated and unsafe state due to it being repeatedly vandalised . Our plan is to initially make the building water tight and then redevelop the inside so it can be safe to use again to provide a functional facility and hospitality for the club and local community to use. We are heavily reliant on fundraising and as we don't have a safe and secure venue to hold events we either have to spend money hiring a venue or be subjected to the British weather. By having the clubhouse renovated it would greatly increase our opportunities to hold more fundraising events and promote community spirit which the club prides itself on.
