by Noel Rigby in Ormskirk, England, United Kingdom

Reduce the carbon footprint of importing millions of Christmas trees Into the UK. Spring water farm was set up on ten acres of land in 2015 to start a low environmental impact, sustainable Christmas tree farm. The idea is to produce high quality home grown Christmas trees to reduce the high carbon burden of transporting and importing Christmas trees from overseas. Four thousand trees were planted last year to start the project and a further two thousand are being planted on the 21st mar 2017. The funds raised will be used to address the water drainage and flooding issues, additional farm equipment and to keep planting for the next 5 years.
