To raise funds for the United Patients Alliance, allowing them to continue their advocacy service on behalf of UK medical cannabis patients.

by United Patients Alliance in Brighton, England, United Kingdom

The UK’s first medical cannabis support group, led by patients, for patients; United Patients Alliance provide tireless advocacy, compassionate campaigning, and essential education, to safeguard the patients’ voice in advancing legal access to cannabis therapeutics.

The UPA is run entirely by volunteers on a self-funding, not-for-profit basis. Through this Crowdfunder you are invited to send the whole team a virtual Christmas Card to show them just how much they are appreciated. All you need to donate is £1, the average cost of a posted card, and leave a message with it. Of course if you wish to pop an additional gift under their virtual tree that would be gratefully received too! Just think of the difference it would make to morale as well as much needed funds to continue their important work, whilst protecting the environment too. Win win!

Every penny donated is spent on service provision; overheads are kept to an absolute minimum. Your donation will be used to rent an essential office from which the Management Committee can work together to launch and run our campaigns and projects. The donations will contribute towards desk hire, WiFi and printing in a shared office, with access to an additional room for Committee meetings. This should enable a more efficient way of working with a greater output.

Despite the change in scheduling in 2018 less than 20 of the estimated 1.4million patients have received an NHS prescription for their medication. Desperate patients have turned to the private sector to obtain prescriptions at significant cost to them. This route of access is not available to the majority of low income chronically sick patients. For this reason the work of the UPA is far from finished. As this year draws to a close, the UPA have identified new aims and projects to continue their work into 2020.

The United Patients Alliance thank you for your donation and continued support of this important mission. However you choose to celebrate this time of year, we wish you all good health and happiness.
