Addiction has been close to my family for many years, I’ve seen the result in the power of recovery and feel this is a massively good cause.

  • I spent many years helping my sister through her addiction and have been fortunate enough to see her come out the other side (5 years clean, go on kel)
  • Friends
  • Family
  • And myself
  • Ive been a functioning addict since I can remember
  • I’m now lucky enough to have a beautiful family, I’m engaged and have a nice home but through the last 2 years that starting with losing someone very close, which at the time I used as an excuse, It’s got more and more regular that I crack a bottle and that bottle turns in to 4 and anything else I can get my hands on
  • So addiction is now closer than it’s ever been
  • I’ve known Tony a long time and he was kind enough to invite me along to one of the groups he’s involved in
  • I took a lot from the group and one thing that stood out was the lengthly battles that people go through and it reminded me about the rehabs my sister was in and out of
  • So the reason I think this is a great cause and wanting to raise money for it is because I think there are many people that are back and forth from rehab many times and I believe it’s because of the lack of support after the rehabilitation process
  • For dry January I’m giving up alcohol as a way of supporting hope and vision communities please help and sponsor me by donating whatever you can
  • thank you
