The Chinese New Year falls on February 5th in 2019. We would like to celebrate it appropriately at our China Spirit UK cultural centre.
The aim of our project is to be able to continue to offer a range of free activities to all age groups. As we are in constant communication with our community, we know that there are families who would like to join our classes but cannot afford the fees. With your help we could provide free classes of Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Lion dance and Mandarin Language.
The fund will enable us to deliver instruction of the highest possible standard to people of any ages living in and around Wallasey. Our centre is based in Seacombe, one of the most deprived areas in the UK. This fund will enable us to provide a fully equipped venue, expertise, knowledge and professional instruction free of charge for the partakers.
Our local community would benefit not only from the free classes but our project also brings people together in their local neighbourhood by resonating a calm natural community spirit and harmony. We strongly believe that the way we teach Chinese Martial Arts will be able to help the individual's vision, helping them to be capable of thinking for themselves in a positive and less destructive manner which will also help the local community to thrive.
As we have been delivering classes at the same venue since 2012 our carpet is in much need of replacement. With your help we could get a much-needed professional underlay and a new carpet for our training floor. This would provide the full experience of a martial arts training centre to all the participants and help us to continue to serve our students at the highest level.
We are proud of providing activities for young people to encourage them to become responsible, healthy and happy citizens which are exactly the sort of preventative measures that will help to reduce crime within the area, tackle anti social behaviour and make the community safer.
China Spirit UK is a not-for-profit organization, a social enterprise, which was founded in 2012 built on the foundation of Spirit of Chinese Kung Fu, which had been serving the Wirral and Merseyside since 2006. Our organisation has been delivering a range of activities to improve health and well-being to all age groups from children to adults. Activities include Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Kung Fu and Wushu, San Shou (Chinese Kick Boxing), Yoga, Mandarin Language, Traditional Chinese Lion Dance, Chinese Calligraphy. The activities delivered by the organisation focus on eastern techniques and methods and aim to offer a unique alternative to more traditional and common activities people use to maintain their health and fitness. Our methods intend to embrace the health in its widest sense and concentrate on improving the mind as well as the body; approaching health in this way provides longer lasting benefits and more sustainable well-being.
In addition to promoting health and well-being the wider goal of our organisation is to help educate people on Chinese culture so they can better understand this community. By improving people's knowledge of Chinese people we hope to build better relationships between British and Chinese communities. Our teaching focuses on the ethos of the ancient arts - self-discipline, a healthy lifestyle and restraint: qualities that are fundamental to the development of good young citizens, rather than the drug-taking, vandalising alternative sub-culture.
Our instructors are Master Xingbo Liu and Huicong Liu. Master Xingbo Liu is a 6th Duan Chinese Martial Arts Master who trained in the Shaolin Temple, in China. He has 30 years of expertise sharing his knowledge with people from different cultures from infant to the older community. His daughter, Huicong Liu has a Level 3 qualification in Sport Science. She is teaching Martial Arts and Mandarin Language for children and adults for over 8 years. She is a British champion in Chinese Martial Arts and Tai Chi. We also have very enthusiastic volunteers helping out in the classes. All our instructors and volunteers have enhanced DBS check.
You should support our project as we have already proved we deliver, we respect and serve our community. We constantly seek the opportunity to improve the life of the residents in the Wirral for example providing educational sessions at local schools, entertainment for free with our Lion dance for hospice patients or the opportunity for our young students to receive further training to become instructors themselves. You should support us as this project is for you and your children, your neighbours, our community.
