We are raising funds with the aim to open a Table Top Gaming Cafe which will include Board Games, Card Games and other Table Top Games. We have run a business for a year now selling mainly Pokemon Cards online on our own website - www.chasegames.co.uk, from a friends shop and on a market stall. Unfortunately we just haven't been able to raise the money we wanted for a shop in this time but now offer a large selection of Pokémon and Gaming products. We have also successfully tested the market for a year, both online and local sales have been excellent throughout our first year and plenty of people have shown an interest in having a Table Top Gaming Shop.
Pokémon is a hobby of ours; us being myself, Dan, my Wife Mel and my daughter Carys. We have got into the competitive side of Pokemon massively in the past year and now hold a successful club in our local church hall. This club would move into the Cafe on a Sunday and having the Cafe would allow us to do another evening of Pokemon Club.
We will also bring in the Magic the Gathering Card Game on a Friday night and try and incorperate YuGiOh, Final Fantasy and other games into the Cafe on different nights. We will also aim to have a vast array of different board games for our guests to enjoy and if they do enjoy them, we hope to have them in stock so they can take one home. We will have larger tables than a normal Cafe so people can play the games whilst enjoying our food and beverages.
Luckily the shop we are looking at is already fitted out with slat wall, so all we will have to provide are the fittings and wooden shelving but there's still a lot we will need to get.
Estimated start-up costs:
- £3500 for the tables and chairs.
- £1000 for slat wall fittings.
- £1000 for the shop counter.
- £500 for a Fridge, glass doored for in the shop.
- £1000 for Sofas and Tables for the comfy area.
- £1000 for Computer and/or POS (Till System)
- £3000 for Kitchen fit out and appliances.
- The remainder, which will be just over £3000 will go towards getting in more board games for people to both use in the shop and to have as shop stock to sell.
The tables will be fold away tables, we will have 15 long table constantly out in the shop. These tables would usually seat 6 people but for card games, seat 4 with lots of space to play, therefore there will be space for 60 players at these tables. We will also have some larger round tables, also foldable, for people to play board games on, with plenty of room for cards and counters around the board.

There are 2 separate rooms, the smaller will be a kitchen and the bigger will be a separate quiet room for people to play a game privately. Eventually we will turn this room into a streaming room so people can either stream or record games straight into the internet or save them to look back at them to see any mistakes they may be making.

We have only been running the Pokemon Club since November and are getting really good turnouts to our tournaments.
