Windmill Day Nursery is a charity organisation that provides care to children and families in East Grinstead. We have a number of children with special educational needs and disabilities. We are planning to resurface the garden a purchase new climbing equipment and sensory resources to help these children the additional needs. The resurfacing and adding extra accessibility measures, e.g. handrails and extra steps, this will make the garden more accessible to children with disabilities. We would love to be able to purchase a climbing frame that is accessible for children who have mobility issues and create challenge for them to strengthen their physical development.

We have also seen since the children returning from the Covid- 19 lockdowns that we have had an increased number of children where their development has been impacted. We have seen regression in areas of educational development such as children's personal emotional and social development and communication. We would love enhance our quite areas of the nursery's to be equipped with more sensory equipment such as bubble tubes, emotions puppets and other resources to help children express their emotions. This is to aid the children's readjustment from the turbulent year our children have had in their early childhood.
