Committed to creating opportunities in music for the community, Croydon FM are opening a dedicated area within our premises as a Recording studio known as CFM Recordings used by local Musicians to express themselves creatively via the production of music.
Research has proven a strong link between music and mental wellbeing discovering music releases dopamine (the feel-good chemical in the brain.) In a recent survey on 'Music and Mental Health' carried out by Help Musicians UK found that of 2,000 musicians interviewed, 71% experience anxiety and 68.5% deal with depression.
Music is known to relax the mind, energise the body and even help people better manage pain which is why we feel strongly about running this service shortly after life returns to a normal state.
We believe in putting a positive spin on what most will consider a very tough time (recent pandemic) - creative production will make a positive difference by offering an outlet to local Recording Artists
CFM Recording studio will support the next generation of musical talent Croydon has to offer by providing a safe space for the Recording Artist to explore new sounds and create music freely.
We envisage CFM Recordings becoming the next big music discovery platform endorsing musicians from grassroots - through personal experience, advice, guidance and usage of the recording facilities CFM Recordings will solidify its position as a credible platform utilised by both local Musicians and skilled technicians.
CFM Recordings will offer ample opportunity for students studying Sound Engineering at Croydon College / other local colleges to gain practical experience in a real-life industry environment
To achieve our goal, Croydon FM CIC is hoping to raise £10,000 to cover the cost of studio equipment, marketing and technician fees.
