CASPA has been providing amazing social clubs, holiday activities and support services to children and people with Autism and their families in Bromley for over 17 years. Our children are growing up, and we need to provide a service which we can transition them on to, as, with nothing else like CASPA around, they never leave... and they don’t ‘grow out’ of Autism! This cafe project will provide us with a vehicle through which we can deliver our training programme ‘Stepping in to Employment and Independence’ in a real life scenario.
Our young people face a bleak future, with only 16% of people in the UK with Autism in full time employment, that’s over 600,000 people with autism relying on Welfare Benefits to survive, a figure which hasn’t improved In the last 10 years. CASPA is determined to address this unacceptable and unnecessary inequality, because our young people have so much to offer and who, with proper support, are capable of achieving so much. We are doing this because they deserve the same opportunities to live and independent life that everyone else does. And with our extensive experience we are best placed to deliver it. We already have over 65 young people as members who are 18yrs +. This is just the start of helping them to achieve happy, fulfilling lives.
