To provide an opportunity for carers of people with mental health problems to meet and support each other

by sandra austin in Derby, England, United Kingdom

Who are we?

We are a pro-active community group who help carers to support someone with mental health issues.  Our monthly forums enable carers to have some respite from looking after their loved ones and meet other carers who are experiencing similar situations.  Many carers are very isolated, have an unhealthy lifestyle and lack confidence and self-esteem. Our aim is to support  people to come together and help each other.

What we would like to do!

We would love to treat our carers to a relaxing pamper session and a couple of trips out into the local countryside.  Any money raised will pay towards a 3 hour pamper session - the therapists , room hire and refreshments. and two trips out - coach hire, refreshments and any admission fees.

The difference it will make to our carers

Our carers will have a fun time out.  It will help them to forget about their problems  and enjoy some activities in a relaxed and safe environment, giving them the chance to unwind, improve their health and well-being  and socialise with other carers.
