Contramestre Anjo, President of Brazilian Culture & Arts Community (BCAC) and founder of Capoeira Natural do Brasil, helps promote community participation and improve the health and wellbeing of the general public through Capoeira, music, Brazilian Dance and percussion. This is accomplished by offering workshops and public demonstrations, regular classes across 6 cities in the UK, as well as regional and international collaborations with other Capoeira groups and literary media.
Contramestre Anjo has a vision to help capoeira practitioners and music lovers get a better understanding of the music behind capoeira. Sharing the history behind the music within capoeira and the instruments, many of the traditional capoeira songs as well as favourites of his own, and the rituals intertwined with the music and songs.
The money we raise will help fund the research behind the the music and realise our vision to publish a Capoeira song book to share this knowledge with the capoeira community and those with a passion for music. Any additional funds made will go into BCAC community projects to fund workshops, events, and festivals to share the meaning, culture, and rituals of the music within capoeira as well as the Brazilian culture.
