Hull and East Yorkshire for Europe is the local affiliated branch of the European Movement. The European Movement was founded in 1949 after World War II, is independent, cross-party, a non-governmental movement is centred upon fostering peace and cooperation with our European neighbours and partners. We are a pro-European, grassroots Movement and we want to build popular, ground-based support for retaining the UK’s current status as a member of the European Union (EU) and to defend all the benefits that we derive from our EU membership.
The local group has over 450 members and does not charge any fees or charges to be a member. It relies on local and personal financial support to run its campaigns. However, these are momentous times for those of us who want the very best for the country and the campaign to avoid the damage to our communities, our society, our economy and our constitution.
We need to campaign for the electorate to have a say in what happens to our country now – not what was “promised” in the 2016 Referendum but a say on what the country now knows Brexit means and what we want this country to be in the future.
We want to fund our members to attend events and marches to show the electorate that there is no majority for the Brexit that was promised in 2016, no majority for a blind Brexit and every reason why we should PUT IT TO THE PEOPLE
