Embark on a journey through light and dark

Embark on a transformational voyage with Camerata Alma Viva and artists John de Mearns and Neil McLean Robertson on September 20th in Conway Hall, London. A benefit gig to support Refugee Syrian Families.

Camerata Alma Viva, accompanied by artists John de Mearns and Neil McLean Robertson, will take you on a journey through sound and vision, through light and dark, through heaven and hell and back out the other side. Creating an experience for you to explore the psyche of man when it allows itself to be governed by darkness and fear.

As the music progesses, the two painters will be performing on stage and guiding the spectators from Mozart's serene and joyful work into the fear and suffering of Shostakovich’s chamber symphony and the darkness of Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones. "Neil and I want to express the aberration that is the movement from the light to the darkness...to visually express its disastrous consequences, whilst offering the perceiver a redemptive glance at the beauty beyond...” John de Mearns

The painting made during the concert will be auctioned to the highest bidder immediately afterwards!

Help the Syrian refugees in their journey

This journey into darkness reflects that of the Syrian refugees in their war torn country. Desperate families have no choice but to leave everything behind and risk their lives to find safety somewhere else. We are raising money to offer them some help in that terrifying journey in search of survival and safety.

Please donate now and get the chance; to spend time with Camerata Alma Viva at their rehearsals or as a VIP guest, to get your own very limited edition print of the final painting by Johnny de Mearns and Neil McLean Robertson. You could even have a composition in your name written by Camerata Alma Viva's composer Eric Mouret!

We are confident that we will raise £4600 to cover the travel and material costs of this event (small given the location and the endeavour!), as we are fundraising and resourcing it through various channels including; an Arts Council Application, personal and private investment/sponsorship and gifts and support in kind. Success in this domaine will be announced as the project progresses so look out for updates! Our Stretch Funding target of £10,000, is what we are looking to raise with your help. And please don't forget the auction of the final piece...!)
