What is the project ?
We are seeking to upgrade our outdated facilities and become a true club for the whole community by providing :
A fully redeveloped clubhouse which will include
Access and toilet facilities for the disabled and our elder members
New toilets and baby changing facilities
Relaid patio and viewing area
Energy efficient lighting, heating and windows throughout.
New flooring throughout
New three lane non turf artificial practice facility for the whole community.
Camborne Cricket Club currently has 150 members runs 4 senior saturday teams as wellas a thriving youth section with teams at U9's, 11's, 13's and 15's. With these facilities we aim to arrest the decline in youth cricket in the Camborne area by allowing our youth to expand, enable the development of a girls team in 2016/17, and to attract back lapsed adult and youth players through the 'Last Man Standing' programme. We also wish to provide facilities that are accessible to all, thus enabling the game of cricket to be a sport that can be enjoyed by all the community.
The cost of the project is in the region of £120,000. We have made a number grant aplications and received some positive responses, however, we must demonstate our commitment to the project by raising a proportion of the overall costs ourselves.
The rewards outlined in this project allow for anyone to make a contribution, knowing your gift will always be remembered. The facilites we have dreamed of having are within our grasp, please support our crowdfunding project to help make our dream become a reality. Together we can make Camborne a cricket club of which the whole community can be proud.
Cricket is a wonderful game and over the years its given me many wonderful moments and memories. Through cricket I have made some of my best friends and the ground at Camborne is one of my favourite places . Our club motto is 'for the love of the game', this project is run by people who love the game of cricket and love their club.
The Club has been at the centre of the life of the town for over 170 years, this project, if successful will insure that it remains so for many years to come.
