To compete on the EuroPro and Jamega Tours, with the overall aim of playing on the Challenge Tour and then onto the European Tour
About the Project
My name is Callum Fountain, I am a 23 year old Golf Professional from Callander, Scotland. Over the last three years I have completed the Foundation Degree in Professional Golf from the University of Birmingham. I am now at a stage in my career where I am faced with a decision on my next move. The reason I turned professional was to play full time and make a living from the game that I love.
Having only picked up the game at the age of 16 I was generally a late starter compared to everyone else around me at my local golf club (Callander Golf Club), I worked on my game every day for 3 years, winning various competions at the club and qualifying for the Gents Club Championship and playing in the Gents team matches, still when I was a junior. At the age of 19 I turned professional and since then I have been playing in Professional Events such as Pro-Ams and The Open Qualifying. Since this point I have worked hard on my game to the point now where I feel I am ready to play Full-Time for a living.
The EuroPro Tour is the European Tour's satellite tour in UK and Ireland. In 2017, Professionals will compete in 15 events across UK and Ireland with a Prize Fund of £50,000 at each event and TV exposure on Sky Sports. The Top 5 in the Order of Merit will gain a tour card for the Challenge Tour in 2018, This is something i would love to achieve, come the end of the season.
The other tour that I will be playing on in the coming season is the Jamega Tour. This is one of the leading development tours in the UK for all Golf Professionals. With 17 Events being played throughout the season with a guaranteed prize fund of £10,500 at each event. One aspect that the Jamega Tour has is their association with The Algarve Tour which is played in Portugal in November and December. Throughout the season there are 5 Order of Merits with the winner of each receiving free entry into 15 events on the Algarve Tour.
As well as playing in both of these tours I will be playing in local professional events and playing with members in their medals to keep myself playing competitive golf whilst not at tournaments. I will also be helping out a junior coaching sessions throughout the summer to help give back to the place where I first started and hope to inspire other juniors too work hard and achieve things that I have out of this great game.
I hope to have a couple of main sponsors, who will sponsor my clothing and bag, and also help me along the way. I have a Fitness Sponsor in place who are helping me make sure I am physically ready for the coming season.
I am looking for Sponsorship and Funding to help me with Tournament entries, accommodation and travel for when i am at the Tournaments and equipment expensies and lessons from my coach. I am looking for a backing of £3500 which will allow me to make a start on the tours and start to live my dream.
This is not a plea for people to give me money to live off, It is purely to help me achieve my goal of being a Full-Time tour pro. I am dedicating everything I have to achieve a dream that i have wanted for as long as I have played golf. I will put all my time and effort into practising and playing to get myself ready for the tours. This is the reason I turned Professional and I wont give up until I have achieved my long term goal of being a European Tour Player.

I will keep you tracked on all my tournament finishes and changes in my game aswell as up to date sponsor information. Along with a blog of what event i am at, how life is on tour and what I aim to do in the lead up to and at the next Tournament.
Officially my season starts at the end of March with the 1st stage of EuroPro Q School, this is to hopefully achieve a higher category for the tournaments throughout the season. From there the EuroPro and Jamega Tour events all start from mid April onwards. I have put together a rough tournament plan which can be emailed on request. With Funding it will allow me to play in most if not all the tournaments in the draft.
