Do you fancy a cup of rich, Italian coffee? Well, come in then. I´ll make one for you.

Wouldn´t it be nice to have this choice? Well, it´s not so far away. I have planning permission for a small café at the top of Bruce Road opposite junction 14 of the Railway Path. This appeal is to help finance the first steps in order to get things going.
Café 5 will become a community-embedded cosy room to meet neighbours and friends. You can come in for a treat, for a quiet moment with your book or laptop or simply for a chat. Have coffee or tea, homemade cake or a tasty snack and always feel welcome!

I came to live here in Gratitude Road in 2002 and quickly became aware of how friendly and easy going the area was, with its own unique and special atmosphere. The commercial building next to my house had been disused for over 25 years and was pretty derelict. I have always had a passion for art, so I converted it into art studios for rent. Since 2003 they have been pretty much fully booked and have also been open for the Easton Art Trail every year since it began in 2007. On those trail weekends people meet in my own gallery rooms to visit the exhibitions and then have a break in my garden with music and poetry. It made me think, "wouldn't it be nice to do this all the time!" So there will be changing exhibitions of local artists and also the occasional live acoustic music in my café. The space will also have the potential to be used out of hours as a meeting place, for teaching and talks, book groups and gatherings etc. It is not intended that alcohol will be offered for sale here.

Junction 14 is a very active crossroads as well as a busy off road route from Bristol to Bath and I feel the presence of a café here will complete the picture and make this particular spot, which is not overlooked by houses, that little bit safer and cared for.

It´s all waiting in the wings! It just needs the funding to begin the work and £ 14.000 is the amount I need. A lot for me but possible to raise in the community. Please help me to make this dream come true and become a funder for this brilliant community venue.
If you would like to help in different ways, please get in touch with me. Help is always very much appreciated.
