Set in the rural countyside, Croftwood is a new established small holding committed to producing organic and ethical products to the local and online community.
Since the 1990s, beekeepers around the world have seen a sudden and mysterious disappearance of bees, and reports unusually high rates of decline in honey bee colonies.
The main reasons for global bees-decline are industrial agriculture, parasites/pathogens and climate change. The loss of biodiversity, destruction of habitat and lack of forage due to monocultures and bee-killing pesticides are particular threats for honeybees and wild pollinators.
With your help, we plan on the introduction of 2 bee hives into the grounds of Croftwood, assisting in pollination of the local areas and producing organic seasonal fine quality honey, Each hive will consist in 10,000 - 60,000 bees. All in the aim of producing a product we can be proud of and raising the awareness of the importance of the honey bee in the future.
