We are trying to raise £500 to develop an area of the school grounds into a Prayer Garden, the area the children wish to develop is show in the project picture.
A group of 8 children and their parents are initialy planning the layout and design of the garden. They wish to have a prayer/friendship bench which will be painted with symbols and words of piece, love and hope.
The Children in the school have already painted over 300 friendship pebbles which they are planning to use to encircle the bench in a friendship circle.
Some of the ways in which the children feel the garden would be beneficial to them are as follows;
An area to get rid of your worries; to think about who you have lost in the past; to pray; to make friends with people you have fallen out with; to calm down; making new friends; to cry; to get rid of worries; thinking about behaviour/actions; Being thankful; quiet time; to sit with a friend; to talk to people who have died; to say hello to God.
The £500 will be put towards a bench, paint, plants and tools to build the garden. The garden will be built by the children supported by family members, the school and the church.
