Our objective is to create a physical building where people can come to have their differences resolved through a  mediation and conciliation process. We have the shell of a building to convert and planning permission for residential development but need funds to transform the building into a community based dispute resolution centre with three mediation breakout rooms and a reception.  The building is located equidistant between Manchester and Liverpool with good transport links and easy access to rail and motorway links, whilst retaining a peaceful atmosphere. We want to create a space where conflict can be defused.  We will also provide people with mediation and mediator training so that they can become registered mediators with the Civil Mediation Council.  We have the building and the demand is there but insufficient funds. The project will benefit the community as we will train local people as mediators and will be able to resolve neighbour and community disputes throughout the North West including Liverpool, Chester, North Wales and Greater Manchester plus environs.
