Buckshaw Village Poppy Campaign

Our aim is to line our village with poppies in remembrance of all our servicemen & women. Buckshaw Village has particular military history

We did it
On 11th November 2018 we successfully raised £500 with 56 supporters in 28 days

VILLAGE WIDE POPPY APPEAL!

Our Buckshaw Village Poppy campaign in conjunction with Buckshaw Village Church, that we first mentioned about a month or so ago.

This years 11th November Remembrance Day is also a focus of the 100th Anniversary of the end of WW1.

We had hoped to mark this by lining our streets with Event Poppies.

The logistics of this have been challenging as Event Poppies are in very short supply, however we are in a position to use the slightly smaller but more hard wearing 20cm poppies instead.

This doesn’t mean we won’t get our allocation of Event Poppies too, but as time is getting closer, we thought the village might like to initially start with these?

We are asking for a donation of £5 per Poppy, the money raised going to Ex Services Personnel Charities.

We will site the poppies initially on Central Ave & Buckshaw Ave to give the most impact for those travelling through our village.

Should the larger Event Poppies finally materialise we can then work around these as we get closer to Remembrance Sunday.
