Brutal Bristol is a Promenade style performance piece which focuses on 13 main characters of which all lived in Bristol and the southwest within the last 200 years.
The stories are true and educational, yet simultaneously theatrical and haunting. The performance is suitable to entertain and educate all ages, yet our aim is to work alongside secondary schools for children studying drama and/or history to bring their education to life, as sections of the performance zone in on; The Bristol slave trade, Gender laws and The treatment of mental health in Bristol over the years. We want our audience to embrace Bristol's history whilst being able to evaluate how far we have come as a city, a society and a community.
We also aim to bring actors and actresses across Bristol together to work on a project that they will both enjoy and learn from. We also aim for all of our actors to build not heir acting skillset and strive for more confidence for future performances and auditions.
We are starting from scratch and the money raised will help pay to put the performance together covering costs such as:
Set building and designing
Light and sound Hire
Special effects Hire
Costume design and hire
Make up & Make up artists
This is a profit share performance and so all of the actors involved have no set rate of pay, but are simply involved for the passion of acting and educating.
We will be Very grateful for any help and support that you can provide us either financially or through advertisement and spreading the word about our project.
