This week should have seen our Youth Theatre companies take to the stage at the Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth for what would have been the twentieth year of our annual end of year show.
“Live from Lockdown” is really an opportunity for us, in the midst of lockdown, to give the students who would have been part of that show a creative and engaging opportunity and hopefully raise a few pounds whilst having a bit of fun!
The students were set a challenge - to record their singing, and create a performance for this video. Each company was given a different song, and apart from some initial guidance and encouragement, the finished product is entirely the result of the hard work and individual creativity of the students. They were given a brief and it's been great fun to see how they've all interpreted it in their own unique way, and we’re really grateful to those students who took part, and to their families for their support.
The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown up major challenges for us all, here at BIGLITTLE Theatre School, we are passionate about helping young people with extraordinary talent achieve their goals. In September 2021, BIGLITTLE Theatre School will be celebrating our 25th birthday and our dream is to be able to continue to support students for many years to come.
To enable this, and to ensure we are able to present BROADWAY SHOWTUNES as planned next year, we would love to see lots of people watch, enjoy this example of “lockdown creativity” coming direct from the young people themselves, and feel motivated to support both BIGLITTLE and Wessex Cancer Trust. Every penny raised will allow us to enhance the training and support that we offer our BIGLITTLE family, and for Wessex Cancer Trust, it will provide the necessary funds to help people within our community who otherwise could be suffering in silence. Whatever your donation; whether it's a couple of pounds or a little more, every penny helps!
All monies that are kindly received through giving will be equally split between the two organisations.
We hope you enjoy the “show” and thank you in advance for your continued support.
ABOUT BIGLITTLE THEATRE SCHOOL:
BIGLITTLE Theatre School is a 'not-for-profit' organisation. This means that any profit raised through school fees and shows are ploughed back into the school to enhance the learning opportunities for our students.
Every summer, over 160 students from our four Youth Theatre Companies perform three amazing nights of Broadway Showtunes at The Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth. Our students train hard all year through to put on an excellent 'high-energy' show that receives rave reviews year after year.
