Part memoir, part nostalgia, part social history, these pictures tell the story of my personal and professional life between 1982 and 1999. They map my first years in Bristol, a city that has become my home. An itinerant for many years previously, I started taking pictures to record and locate a particular home, place, part of me. To make a physical representation of my mental and emotional map before moving on. Here was my home, this was my space, these were my friends, this is who I was.
Except this time I didn’t move on. I still live in Bristol, I still work as a photographer. I have a huge archive of black and white negatives that I want to share, I hope that they will chime with other lives.
