I have been backed by the National Youth Theatre to create more arts opportunities for Hull and the extended region's young people.

Hi!

My name is Aidan Thompson-Coates and I am Hull born and bred.

It is with great pleasure that I am allowed to finally announce that recently, I applied to be one of the first ever 'Centre Stage Creatives' with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain - the country's most prestigious youth theatre, with alumni including Helen Mirren, Daniel Craig, Colin Firth and  Catherine Tate to name but a few. Centre Stage Creatives, as a principle, is all about expanding NYT's outreach, extending the nature, quality and quantity of opportunities for its members. NYT has thousands of members all across the country aged between 14-25 and having been successful in obtaining the role, I shall be bringing various exciting arts opportunities to Hull and Yorkshire and cannot wait to do so!

Much of this outreach will involve school workshops, community workshops, group networking, getting NYT involved in youth arts groups, arts-related activities, trying to support the region's aspiring actors, writers, directors, producers, technicians, designers and much much more!

Alongside all of this, I want to bring a large-scale production to Hull, involving entirely National Youth Theatre members, onstage and backstage, combining the talents of the area. I want to be able to give Hull and Yorkshire's young people a large platform to show not only what we are capable of in Yorkshire, but what each of our young people are capable of. It is a production that will ideally be made up entirely by the young people's thoughts, ideas, creativity and lives as a whole. It really will be a Yorkshire grown piece.

The venue I want to use to showcase these talented young people is currently way too far out of the grant NYT has given me and I only have this week to source that budget to be able to deliver on this wonderful opportunity for our city and our county's young people. Not achieving our target will result in a loss of multiple exciting opportunities and exposure for our young people.

If you care as deeply about the future of young artists as I do, I would appreciate anything you can donate to us and would be eternally grateful! It will entirely go towards venue hire and we will feature all those that donate in our programme, as well as I will print all of your names on my Centre Stage Creatives hoodie as a constant reminder that you people helped this happen!

Let's make Hull a Northern powerhouse for young artistry with the aid of the National Youth Theatre and give our talented young people all over Yorkshire the opportunity of a lifetime!

Thank you all a million times!

Let's make 'A National Youth Theatre Supported Project in Hull' happen
