Can you help us provide women with a safe, relaxing, welcoming environment?
My name is Laura and I’ve been a volunteer counsellor at Harrow Women’s Centre for just over 2 years now. I love the friendly atmosphere and positive support that users of the centre enjoy. However, the counselling rooms are in serious need of a makeover; the wallpaper is shabby, the lighting is harsh and the furniture is dated. I’d love to be able to see clients in a more comfortable, welcoming space where they can feel relaxed and respected, and which better reflects both the warmth and professionalism of the Women’s Centre.
We have been supporting Women in Harrow for over 25 years and for the last 10 years have been resident in our building in south Harrow. The building is now starting to show its age and we want to make it as inviting, happy and welcoming as the people who use it.
In particular the Counselling rooms are desperately in need of a coat of paint, better lighting and furnishings. As we have very little storage the rooms are being used as ‘dumping grounds’ so we need to put up shelving and cupboards to tidy everything up!
