To be part of a community is to be uplifted, inspired, connected and supported.
Breaking BreAD is about empowering young adults in Bristol to become thriving members of their community by opening up access to practical, meaningful training, delivered primarily by Leaders and pillars of the community.
Who are we?
We are an organisation of progressive Leaders who recognise the need for a fresh approach to engage with and support the younger generations of our community.
Our approach is to offer accessible, practical training, led by facilitators and subject matter experts from the inner-city Community.
Who’s it for?
Breaking BreAD is a programme of bitesize training modules designed to engage with young adults primarily from the ethnic community who have been let down, disenfranchised and haven’t been afforded the opportunities that they deserve.
The programme offers a chance for participants to learn and develop their technical and social skills that will empower and support them as they move forward in their professional and personal lives and in their community.
How does it work?
The bitesize modules will take the format of talks, presentations and groupwork led by facilitators and subject matter experts from the supporting Community in a positive, safe space. The modules cover a broad spectrum of subjects from finances, right through to wellbeing.
The participants success is measured by attendance, participation, effort and involvement. We want to bring the best out of our young people and not judge them by what’s put down on paper.
The success of the programme will be measured through data collated at key stages throughout the programme from registration through to follow up sessions.
Why is it needed?
Because it’s true. It takes a village to raise a child.
We all have a part to play in fostering a healthy, safe community where generations can grow, thrive, feel empowered and uplifted so that they have the tools to support the generations that follow them.
By building on the foundations of our community spirit and strengthening the intergenerational connections, we can learn from our experiences, share in our successes and be united in our efforts to build a longstanding legacy of role models that go on to inspire future generations.
How can you help?
We need your help to raise £5300 to run a 4 week programme of Breaking BreAD. This will help to uplift, educate and support 64 young adults in our community.
Quite simply, if we don’t lift each other up – we won’t make it.
