Nature 4 Health ( www.N4H.co.uk) is a new independant charity set up to continue and develop the therapeutic and conservation work that was carried out by Scottsh Waterways Trust (now closed down) in the Highlands and Moray. In this endeavor we have secured funding for some of our planned work, including £5,000 from the local NHS board, but we find ourselves with a shortfall of £5K matched funding to make this award winning Branching Out programme happen.
The Branching Out programme is well established and has shown great efficacy using nature, conservation, bushcraft, physical activity and environmental art as therapeutic tools for those in mental health recovery. It is run by Scottish Forestry (Forestry Commission Scotland) with support from the NHS:
The team at N4H have been involved in delivering Branching Out programmes for several years with other charities in Aberdeenshire and are now keen to bring this into the Moray area. It is such a fantastic journey that makes a huge difference to people's lives. The programme also keys into our other work and projects, with participants gaining opportunities to volunteer and take part in a range of other activities, such as a residential work week in conjunction with Trees For Life.
Branching Out can help those in mental health recovery to reclaim their health, confidence and lives. Please help us make this opportunity work. All funds raised go 100% directly to run the project with no hidden overheads.
