About Brainbox Games
Brainbox Games is solely committed to improving the educational standards and future opportunities for all. We are a team of primary school teachers who have realised that many children need greater incentives and opportunities to support them to reach their potential. Using our expertise and experience in the sector, we have designed and built educational platforms for schools which deliver personalised challenges to mobile game apps for children to play.
In our short existence as an edtech startup and with no budget, we have built our first MVP, Magic Spell, and have our second, Mathsronauts, in development. Magic Spell is being trialed in a number of schools across the UK and has multiple downloads from Apple App Store Google Play. In order to improve our games and the effectiveness of their mechanics and challenge, we need to scale-up our trial schools, players and parents in order to learn directly from their experiences.
Our Crowdfunder Campaign
A successful Crowdfunder campaign will enable us to make the following commitments:
1: Offer every school in the UK a free trial of our teachers dashboard and access to our suite of mobile games.
Our dashboard allows teachers to set personalised challenges for their pupils so that they can practise in school and at home. The dashboard captures game performance and provides valuable feedback so that teachers can plan next steps and celebrate successes.
2. Invest in online customer advocacy tools that will provide teachers, pupils and parents with a simple solution to communicate with our team. This will enable us to respond to feedback quickly and show every customer that their ideas and experiences are valued.
3. Invest in product innovation and game development. Our vision is simple and clear: we want to improve educational standards for all children whilst participating in the ultimate mobile gaming experience. We have the potential in our team to build complex artificial intelligence models which will vastly improve the effectiveness of our games to challenge every player. This technology will reduce teacher workload considerably whilst continually adjusting game challenge to suit each player's ability and performance.
Feedback from our Customers
To date, we have over 2000 school users and over 500 app store downloads. Children love playing our games and recognise that they are more able to apply their learning in school. They grow in confidence because the games make them practise in many different and fun ways.
Teachers think that the dashboard is simple to use and provides them with detailed feedback for every child. There are additional features that they would like to see added such as set up assistance and whole-class feedback charts that will be added.
Parents love our games because they are 100% educational and based specifically upon National Curriculum expectations. As teachers and senior leaders in the primary sector, we only build games that impact educational standards: we understand the needs of teachers and accountability for standards in schools. Parents would love to see feedback built into the app so that they can check up and see how their children are performing. These features will be added in the near future.
