The book I wish to finalise and publish is about a duck named Borris who must use his wit and guile to survive a journey to a new and safer land for him and his family to live.
Borris is not just any duck, he also has some tricks to help him complete his journey in the form of three magical trinkets left behind by the mysterious beings that lived and vanished long ago.
During my time growing up as a child, my mother would often read to me; even at a young age she would read works by authors such as Tolkien or Pratchett to me. Reflecting back on this, I realise how much I loved these bedtime stories and the chance to bond over stories that both my mother and I enjoyed so thoroughly.
My dream has always been to tell stories that make people smile and laugh. With this first book, I hope that I may have the chance to tell my stories to families all over the world.
My aim is to write stories that both children of young ages and parents alike can enjoy. Stories that a parent will find interesting or enjoyable enough, but also that a child may learn from and enjoy.
Working as a carer with the NHS I cannot afford to finance this by myself whilst also supporting my family. I am hoping that with the aid of this project I can raise enough funds to make this dream a reality so that I may write part time whilst continuing to work and provide for my family.
My project goal is to raise enough funds to help finance the initial costs of finalising and publishing a book, including editing and illustrations.
I would also be using some of the funds to buy the tools I require to better deliver these projects in good quality.
I offer my thanks for those who take the time to investigate my project and even more so to those of you who are generous enough to assist me with it.
