Booktopia a place where books are brought back to life. An experience for all children who walk through it's doors, a place where children can be taken away to another place, time or simply expand their minds. A place where children can spend time with their loved one's making memories or choosing that special bedtime storey.

Booktopia is always something I have wanted to do and now after leaving a fourteen year abusive relationship the world is my oyster and the time couldn't be better. Booktopia will be such a valued addition to the local community and with children spending more time in front of screens becoming both physically and mentally affected I think Booktopia is now very much needed.

My three children have been raised surrounded by books and i've seen how much joy they have had not only by reading the books but with all the excitement that surrounds them, the trip to the shop, choosing one, feeling one and then reading it either for quiet time or with a loved one, memories made.

Booktopia is essentially a children's second hand book shop that rehomes books of all genres, from pre-school age right up to young adults, there will be something to grab the attention of all children who all have different interests and abilities. Not only will Booktopia be the place to come to for books it will also be a hub for activities, clubs and events. There will be Summer holiday reading challenges, book review clubs and many other fun things to help encourage children to pick up a book.

The shop itself will be a cross between Happy Potter and a scene from a Charles Dickens novel, it will be warm, comfortable and welcoming, a place where all children and visitors will be given first class customer service unlike anywhere else. Booktopia will home books for children with learning difficulties and books for those children who might be visually impaired. We will also have a variety of information books to help children through difficult times in life.

Sourcing books has proven very easy and I already have stock ready to go. This has been very well thought through and I already have children, parents, schools and nurseries asking when Booktopia will be opening! I have a marketing degree myself so have so many amazing ideas about what I can do with Booktopia and I think its just such an amazing thing to offer the children within my community.

So I need funding for a premises, fixture and fittings and all other costs associated with this venture, I just need the chance to make it happen and I know i'm the person to do it.

Booktopia….. Bringing books back to life.
