We are a newly registered charity called Ben's Place (North Yorkshire) Charity Number 1182645

Our vision is to support Male victims 16+ who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence and rape. Our aim is to support Male survivors in North Yorkshire. Our goal is to reach remote areas by using a digital service where most survivors find it hard to engage or travel for support. To offer a service whereby they can engage with people who have an understanding, non judgemental and can show empathy.  Ben's Place (North Yorkshire) is named after Benjamin who was groomed from the age of 11, abducted and sold to a national paedophile ring in 2003. Everyone that could have helped Benjamin failed him,the Police, Social Services and the National Health. Benjamin eventually unfortunately committed suicide at the age of 23 whilst under the care of the National Health Service in a secure unit.  This service has been created to hopefully help the next Benjamin, we want to support and offer help if needed.  Self blame is a major issue with male survivors and the majority of men never disclose. The police managed to obtain only 7 convictions from Benjamin's abusers, but Child protection services estimated over 200 men sexually abused Benjamin from the age of 11 to 14.  This new service is Benjamin's legacy to other male survivors of sexual abuse within North Yorkshire. To offer support and eventually therapy if required to help them heal from their trauma. We want to stop the stigma of Male sexual abuse, raise awareness that Boys and Men matter too. We would like to help educate and inform the public, that this is a subject we need to talk about and help heal the survivors of these horrific crimes against boys and men.
