Due to the recent reopening of restaurants and a renewed demand for ingredients from our longstanding hospitality customers, we will sadly have to cancel our upcoming, virtual banquet with Sabrina Ghayour and friends on Friday 21st August.
We are still open to donations towards the Belazu Foundation. These donations will be used to support the Iffley Academy, Zakoura Foundation and School Food Matters.
The current aim of the Belazu Foundation is to raise enough money so that the cumulative total donations can be divided into specific charity projects:
- School Food Matters campaigns for fresh sustainable food in schools and promotes food education through cooking, growing and visits to farms. £7,000 would enable School Food Matters to host a Summer Food and Fun club in August, supporting vulnerable children to combat against holiday hunger and to return to class in September.
- The Zakoura Foundation provides quality education in Morocco, focusing on vulnerable populations in rural areas and is local to our olive and oil suppliers in Marrakesh. £20,000 more would allow the Zakoura Foundation to provide two schools in the Atlas Mountains with support in the form of two teachers, and educational materials for the parents of children in Tidli and Aourir.
- Iffley Academy is a special education school in Oxfordshire. An additional £9,000 would enable the Iffley Academy to continue their food education programme in their home economics classroom and to put on a Fun Day for the children and their families.
We’d like to say a huge thank you for your commitment to the Belazu Foundation, and we'd like to assure everyone that our support of the Iffley Academy, Zakoura Foundation and School Food Matters is ongoing.
Thank you again for your continued support,
The Belazu Team
