All Ignite Theatre will be presenting their new production of Richard Kalinoski’s Beast on the Moon at the Finborough Theatre between 29 January - 23 February. For our production to reach its full potential, we need YOUR support!
About the play:
This award-winning, universal story of hope and healing about the trauma of genocide and war, remains a play for our times. The story follows two young survivors of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 as they attempt to rebuild their lives in the United States. This teenaged couple have lost everything – family, community and homeland. The play explores their journey to overcome bereavement, and their own displacement – a process so many 21st century refugees still struggle with today.
About the company:
All Ignite Theatre is a new company founded by director, Jelena Budimir and producer, Sanna-Karina Aab. We met on the production of White Guy on the Bus at the Finborough Theatre in March, 2018 – a show that’s been nominated for 4 prestigious Off-West End Awards. Sharing a philosophy, and a belief that theatre can promote change, we decided to form a company. All Ignite is dedicated to producing high-quality theatre that reflects the world we live in, and that has the potential to start important conversations.
Apart from the four-week run of Beast on the Moon, we’re planning other events to enhance the production’s impact. There will be a series of post-show discussions featuring representatives from the UK’s Armenian community and the freedom of speech NGO, Index on Censorship. We also want to offer workshops to youth and refugee groups to explore the themes of the play.
At All Ignite we’re not short on ideas… But we are short on cash… Any donation from you would be greatly appreciated as we begin our journey to become a sustainable theatre company – one that has a vision for social change.

The press on All Ignite’s last show White Guy on the Bus
“Jelena Budimir’s lean, swift production is very well acted… It’s a play that provokes thought while keeping you entertained.” Michael Billington, The Guardian
“Philadelphia-based Graham deftly crystallises the characters’ surface-deep prejudices and privileges, asking big questions about power and race. It’s politically charged and exhilarating.” Fergus Morgan, The Stage
“Thought-provoking, surprisingly unpreachy and will live in the mind long after other plays have faded.” Gary Naylor, Broadway World UK
