Hi... Hope you are well? BAK Foundation have organised a charity bike ride to raise funds for Andys man club, a charity dedicated to tackling mental health amongst men.
With October being mental health awareness month this is the perfect opportunity for us to address this concerning issue amongst our society. You may or may not be aware but 1 in 8 men suffer from mental health illness.
When? The event will take place on 31st October 2020.
Where? We will ride from Harrogate (Beckwithshaw) to York in the morning and from Beckwithshaw to Ripon in the afternoon.
Distance: Total ride distance will be broken into 2 segments. The first segment will be a 70 mile ride in the morning, the second segment will be 30 miles in the afternoon. Most of the riders will attempt to complete 70 miles with a number of the riders attempting the 100 mile target.
Target: £1500 as a minimum.
We would love for you to be involved in this great cause and not only raise funds but also raise awareness through our family and friends, whether that is in person or through our social channels. Let's get this word out to everyone you know.
I accept this challenge. Do you?
Who are Andys man club?
ANDYS MAN CLUB started off as one group in the small, northern town of Halifax. That first night 9 men turned up and spoke. There was a magic in that room that everyone knew had to be shared.
Andys man club was set up in memory of Andy Roberts who was a loving and doting father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was an all round top guy, one of the truly nicest people.
The charity quickly understood that other men across the country needed this same experience. The charity organisers have worked tirelessly through Andys memory to
grow the clubs. Andys man club now have 28 groups, and still growing, across the UK.
