Baildon Imagination Library is currently sending monthly books to around 300 local children aged 0-5 years at a cost of £600 per month.
This ensures development of key language and reading skills from parents/carers reading to their children and later the children can read the books themselves.
The books are a mixture of fiction and factual, and all encourage interaction.
Baildon Imagination Library would like to cast out again to local parents/carers and offer this amazing opportunity to local children.
Books can prove expensive and in these difficult financial times not all families can afford to purchase books to encourage these key language development skills.
Receiving a new book each month in the post is exciting for the children and encourages motivation to read and discover new stories and knowledge.
Gaining extra funds will ensure security of the project in the coming months and allow the small committee to market the scheme for new children to sign up, they can also look to circulate other fund-raising schemes to attempt to ensure security and longevity for the scheme.
