Project aim

Bristol Academy Women's FC want to raise funds to invest in our 1st team and youth development to continue to keep top flight womens football in Bristol.

About the project

As the only independent club in the FA WSL 1, Bristol Academy have always been happy to be considered the underdog. We have proved that although small, the club has a big heart and we have been able to compete against the larger and financially better-supported clubs for a number of years. We pride ourselves on being a family-orientated club that is committed to producing home-grown talent both on and off the pitch, as we provide a realistic development pathway for young female footballers and coaches trying to achieve their dream, play or coach in the top division in this country and compete at the highest level. Recent successes have been in developing several England and Wales players, as well as providing Mark Sampson, the current England Manager his first senior coaching job at Bristol.

We are a club with fantastic fans and sponsors who go above and beyond to support us, particularly through Bristol Sport and our two shirt sponsors, DAS and 1st Office. However, with the game growing in quality, popularity and with the increased budgets of other clubs, we are looking to raise additional funds not only to strengthen the squad but also to invest in our young talent coming through.

We have a challenging second half of the season ahead; we will be fighting to retain our WSL 1 status and continue to bring top flight women’s football to Bristol. We hope you will join our journey too! Your support will have a direct impact on a club which is free from the excesses of the men’s game, we make decisions for the medium term benefit of future stars and you can have a hand in that success.
